Within Julia Hill Studio we are exploring the concept of Coastal Casual beginning with curating a collected style. As if a traveler has been collecting for a lifetime and landed on a distant shore finally finding a place for the collection to live. The concept encompasses a high low design principal. Every space requires a bit of both to feel grounded and complete. Creating a story and sharing a glimpse into the most treasured and intimate stories spun over a relaxing day on the beach , a boating excursion on the river or time spent with family and friends exploring the boundless and diverse nature of Florida.
After all why do we collect things? To remind of us a specific time, capture a moment we want to remember and keep what we hold most dear close to us. It is our intent to curate unique and interesting objects evoking a sense of calm and spark a curiosity in you to create an inviting interior for friends and family to explore.
As you begin to create your Coastal Casual Space here a few concepts for reference
A collected style spanning high and low ( high a bit of sparkle- mirrors, glass, metals - low natural woods, textual fabrics and untouched elements)
Age is good - think a worn patina

Hand crafted , created by hand by artisans - hand painted, gilded , thrown on a potters wheel
The colors found in nature, calming colors, watery blues, greens, and muddy neutrals - sky at sunset and dawn ranging from a soft opal hue to fiery magenta
Coastal world - oceans, marshes, islands and rivers
Nothing too precious, but cared for and passed on through generations
